We want to do what we can to contribute to a greener world and (the occasional) meatless meals helps in this. Reducing our meat intake becomes easier with these four tips.
Do it at your own pace
Becoming a vegetarian in one go is ambitious but can be difficult to sustain. Take it in small steps. Eat meat every other day or on select days instead of every day, for example.
Discover new spreads
Meat in sandwiches is easy to replace with other things. And it’s also fun to discover new fillings. For example, try hummus or grilled vegetables instead of that one slice of chicken fillet.
Meat substitutes
Although they will never taste the same as real meat, meat substitutes do come fairly close. You can find them in almost any supermarket and there’s a lot to choose from nowadays.
Share your piece of meat
Still craving that hamburger or chicken leg? Then you can also share the meat with someone. Not only does this save you money when grocery shopping, but you also consume less. You simply supplement that empty space on your plate with extra vegetables.
