We’re keeping track of all the best B&Bs, hotels and other overnight locations we can find. All of which, we feel, are great places to go for a weekend or a bit longer. The rooms of the Amsterdam hotel Dwars are furnished with vintage items and cute plants.
What’s the best thing about this place?
Hotel Dwars is really, really comfortable, and has the best beds. The cozy rooms have been styled by the girls of Things I Like Things I Love. There are plenty of cool vintage items and cute plants, as well as Nespresso coffee and tea in the rooms and a big rain shower! In the morning, you can wander out the door and enjoy breakfast on the Utrechtsestraat.
What’s for breakfast?
The hotel does not serve breakfast, but there are a lot of great places in the neighborhood, like Two For Joy, De Koffie Salon, Bar Moustache or Café de Huyschkaemer.
Our tip
Strolling around the canals or shopping in the Utrechtsestraat. And, of course, all the beautiful museums of Amsterdam, the Jordaan district and the Nine Streets (de negen straatjes). Rent bicycles from next door, and you can get around town easily!
Good food
Ku Kitchen & Bar, delicious Japanese food and yummy cocktails. The Utrechtsedwarstafel and Dik en Cunningham also promise a long evening of dining pleasure.
Good to know
This neighborhood is not too touristy yet, but once you discover it you’ll never want to go back to the Dam or Kalverstraat.
