We are busy gathering the addresses of the best B&Bs, hotels and other overnight locations we can find. All of which, we feel, are great places to go for a weekend or a bit longer. This spacious townhouse in the middle of Antwerp has beautiful rooms, where you can spend the night surrounded by paintings, pretty reading lamps and romantic wallpaper.
B&B Bed, Bad en Brood in Antwerp
Special features
Finally we get the chance to sleep in a XXXL townhouse with soaring ceilings and all the beautiful details of a Belle Époque house. What’s more, it is perfectly central so almost everything is within walking distance from here. The rooms are all attractively furnished, and have names such as Sissi, Gustav and Victoria. The various wallpapers are gorgeous, and there are lots of great details like little chandeliers, romantic paintings and adorable shaded lamps. There is also one family room that has room for four.
What’s for breakfast?
Breakfast is organic and homemade. There is yoghurt with fruit salad, a range of cheeses and cold cuts, homemade jam and chocolate spread, croissants and bread. Every day there is also a surprise menu item, such as pancakes, an omelet, or French toast…naturally all homemade.
Our tip
Go to Vitrin, a cute café in Antwerp Zuid, to enjoy a very good Aperol Spritz.
Good food
Mampoko (mampoko.be) is a great and low-key place to eat. It has a vibrant atmosphere, is open all day and the menu is eclectic.
