Through his PET Lamp Project, Spanish designer Alvaro Catalán de Ocón has been collaborating with communities around the world to transform plastic waste into unique and functional works.
Since starting the initiative in 2011, he has worked with artisan weavers in Chile, Colombia, Japan, Ethiopia and Australia to produce a series of circular ceiling lamps that address the plastic waste issue, as well as highlight the preservation of craft skills and traditions. It’s a harmonious union indeed.
