Swedish artist Ulla-Stina Wikander is a bit of a cross-stitch fan. Not only has she been collecting cross-stich embroideries for over a decade, she is also on a mission to bringt this craft back to life.
Wikander takes ordinary, obsolete itemes from the 1970s – from typewriters to toasters, shoes to sewing machines, prams to phones, and household appliances to recreational items – and covers them with cross-stitch embroideries she has found in flea markets and vintages stores. The results are too delightful for words.
