Who needs to go and visit a museum, when French/Corsican artist Julien de Casabianca is bringing works of art from the walls of museum out onto the walls of urban spaces.
With his Outings project, started in 2014, he aims to ‘free’ the paintings that one really sees: the ‘Small, Secondary, Forgotten, Definitely anonymous, Almost dead’ ones, he says. De Casabianca also encourages other people to photograph artworks in their local museums, print hem, paste them onto walls in their hometown, and then photograph their postings and submit the example to the Outings website.
